My name is Paolo Castro, I’m a Senior Software Engineer based in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
I’ve been in the software development industry since late 2009, I’ve been given the opportunity to work on many different projects through out this time, involving different technologies, programming languages, different team sizes, for enterprise level companies as well as startups trying to find their place, I’ve also worked on a couple of projects with some of my closest friends, and mentors I should say, and of course, like probably most software developers, I’ve also spent some time on my own projects, either for learning purposes, or simply to see how far it could go; this is one of the latter, I’ve been thinking about writing a blog for quite some time now, I’ve had a couple of previous attempts as well, so hopefully, this one sticks around.
Aside from software development, I enjoy practicing sports from time to time, particularly football (soccer), basketball, swimming and last but not least, cycling. I’m also one of those software developers highly stereotyped by their likeness of coffeee, I enjoy the whole process; from the smell when openning the bag of coffee grains, to the taste of the last sip of my cup.
I hope this blog can reach more people than just me and my lovely wife, who’s motivation to always improve herself has been, not only and example for me, but also a source of inspiration.
Finally, I’d like to share a drawing I’ve made of my favorite office companion, she’s been there for me to better my days and improve my mood.
